Richard “Shredder” Roland Redfield departed this world April 15, 2023. He was born March 9, 1970, in Crow Agency, Montana to Roland Redfield Sr. and Jessie Westbrook. Richard attended Lodge Grass Schools, while there he participated in football and basketball, and in 1988 he helped his team become the class 3B State Champions. His athleticism and competitiveness earned him invitations to many travel teams and when combined with his carefree attitude and sense of humor gained him many friends who quickly became family across the states. He enjoyed playing other sports including softball, shooting pool, throwing horseshoes, and competed in bare-back riding in rodeo. Richard loved to go fishing, camping, working on cars, ride horses, and ride his dirt bike. From the time he was a toddler he would be helping on the ranch haying and branding. He loved helping Dad on Reno Creek gathering horses and cows. He could be found riding his dirt bike through those cow trails with a big ‘ol smile on most days. He dabbled in various mediums while exploring his artistic abilities, painting, drawing sketches and designing tattoos for his family and friends. He was always helping someone and offered the best of himself to those he helped. During his stay in Sheridan, Oregon he completed his GED and Carpentry certifications. The little ones gravitated to him and were excited to see him when he walked into the house. He loved them unconditionally and gave his attention without reserve, indulging in their stories and listening to them telling on their parents.
