On August 27, 1967, Robert “Bob” Joseph Meiwald, Sr was born to Louella WhitemanRunsHim and was given to and adopted by Don and Lucy (Parker) Meiwald.
Robert grew up in Box Elder, MT and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1985. In high school, Bob played basketball, was on the Honor Roll Society, Student Council, All Conference Selection for Basketball.  During his teen years, he enjoyed riding his horses, traveling, camping, hunting and fishing.  He regularly helped with branding and taking care of cattle. During his adult years, he gained a love for traveling, riding his Indian motorcycle, spending time with his wife, Melva, singing karaoke with family and friends, watching basketball and his #1 NFL Team (Go Raiders!), listening to music, pool league, tournaments with his numerous friends.  Bob was an adventurer. He had a distinctive laugh and a head gesture to go with it. He was ambitious, fun and determined to ring life of all the experiences he could.

After high school, for a brief period, Bob attended Eastern Montana College-Billings to study Business Administration. A year after, Bob enlisted in the Air Force from 1987-1992 where he served in support of Desert Storm and was in the Reserves until 1995 when he was Honorably Discharged. He learned how to run heavy equipment in the Air Force and after the Air Force he further used his skills as a finish blade hand building roads for the local 400 Union and local 49 Union. He was part of the Union for over 30 years. He was a member of the F.O.E. For over 30 years. 

In 1997, he was reunited with his birth family and gained many more family and friends.

In 2010, on his birthday, he met the love of his life, his soulmate, Melva Driver. He married her in 2016.

In 2016, he attended the Indian Bike Week in Minneapolis, MN where he was part of breaking a Guinness Book of records with over 500 bikes in one ride.

Bob Meiwald lived a full life. He was a man people flocked to. He had an infectious spirit and made many friends wherever he went.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Bob is survived by his wife, Melva; his son Robert “RJ” (Whitney) Meiwald Jr; his daughters, Jessica Ruthven, Leslie (Nathan) Meyers, Tonia (Orlando Stanley) Broncho, Tiffany Meiwald, and Aubrey Meiwald; brothers Gary (Carlene) Johnson Jr, Richard (Becky) Brown, and Dean (Connie) Bullshows; sisters Clarene Walters and Terri Whiteman; 8 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Bob’s extended families are the Parkers, Corcoran, Yellowtails, WhitemanRunsHim, Bull Chief, Medicine Crow, Bends, Frazier, Hogan, Takers the Gun, Fritzler, Bad Bear, Beads/Don’t’ Mix, Bull Over the Hill, Flatlip, Moccasin, Old Coyote, Old Horn, Pease, Pretty on Top, Russell, Small, Spotted Horse, Stewart, and Walks Over Ice and in Canada, the Lefthand family in Canada and the Washakie family of Wyoming. Our family is large and we apologize if we have forgotten anyone.
