Robert was raised in Lodge Grass and resided there most of his life; he also attended school there. Coming from a large family, Robert did his part and worked small jobs from the tender age of 10 years old to help keep his mother & family fed and warm.  When he got older he enrolled in trade school in Dallas, Texas as a mechanic and from there became a lifelong Dallas Cowboy fan.

In 1966 he met and married Mervalene LaForge and from this union had 3 daughters, then was later divorced. He later met the joy of his life, Charlene Alberta Jefferson, and together had 3 daughters. In 1979 Robert and Charlene both co-pastored the Lodge Grass Miracle Church where he also founded the Holy Ghost Believers Band and Ministry. In 1985 Robert answered the call as an evangelist after pastoring the Miracle church in Lodge Grass and together the couple became full time evangelistic ministers traveling throughout the United States and Canada sharing the word of God. They returned home to Lodge Grass to continue their pastorship of the Holy Ghost Believers Church. Robert loved having street services, Gospel concerts and feeding people through get togethers.
