Sean Evan Thomas Bad Bear was born on July 25, 1991 to Maria Roundstone and Thomas Bad Bear III and passed away on July 29, 2024. He is enrolled with the Crow tribe and also a member of the Northern Cheyenne nation. Sean’s God parents were Greg Hogan Jr and Erles Hogan. His Crow name is Baachia Heeleen (Stands in Pine) and his Cheyenne name is Hotoahetone (Bull Thigh).
Sean attended schools at Northern Cheyenne Headstart, Lame Deer Elementary, Hardin Primary and finished at St. Labre Indian School graduating in 2010. While in school Sean participated in basketball, wrestling and was a coach for Lil’ Braves basketball.
Sean’s work history began with the Crow Tribal Youth Program, Northern Cheyenne Childcare and Crow Tribal Roads until he found his calling working with water systems. He was as a certified Water Distribution System Operator (Ground & Surface Water) and a certified Water Treatment Plant Operator (Ground & Surface Water) and worked at the Northern Cheyenne Utilities Commission and the Crow Tribal Water Authority. Sean was always ready to get dirty for Fox Bucking Horse Company and Adamas Construction Development, whatever they needed, he was there to help.
Proceeded in death by his brother David, his grandparents; Mac Bad Bear, Clifford Foote, Jerome & Nellie Beartusk, Lillian Tallbull-Ayers, Bernadette and Myrtle Beartusk, Emeline & Alfonso Burt Spang, Kay and Alberta Spang, aunt Diane Deputee, cousin/brother Tyson Flatness, cousin/sister Shelrae Limpy and adopted brother Melvin Prettyweasel.
Sean is survived by his mom and dad, Maria & Wayne Roundstone, his father, Thomas Bad Bear, his brothers, Seth & Scot Bad Bear, Benjamin Woodenthigh-Roundstone, Jeffery/Ambrien (Jerald & Ellie), and Two Lance Roundstone. His sisters, Meya niv, Bessie/Kyle, and Joce’nia (Ty’Zen)Roundstone. His grandparents: Warren Spang, Althea (Mike Sioux) Foote, Shirley Bad Bear, and Cathy Kansala Spang. Uncles: Travis/Joanna and Ryan Kennedy, Waylon Burns, Vincent/Jaime Bad Bear. Aunts: Marita Foote, Luanna Fox, Tami/Robert Montclair, Alma/Tony Davis, and Edwina/Tim Jefferson
