Our tiny baby, Shiila Sage LaForge, passed on to the other side of camp on May 7th at our home in Garryowen MT. We named her Shiila, pronounced as Sheila; we called her Shiila in Crow meaning Sorrel Horse. We named her that to honor our fast sorrel mare that we won races with and trained for Koy’s uncle Albert. After he passed on, the horse we named Pryor Girl and called Shiile (sorrel horse) was gifted to us by Koy’s sisters (Albert’s daughters). We named our tiny baby Shiila to honor and remember our fast sorrel mare. We love our baby so much and only got to enjoy her for such a short time. We are going to miss her greatly.
We are burying her with her great grandmother Velma Whiteman-Bellrock so that she will not be alone.
Survivors include her parents Kirt Koy and Victoria LaForge, grandparents Kirt and Elsie LaForge, Rita Bellrock, and JK Bellrock, brother Thayne Koe LaForge, and sisters Kailani, Vyla and Koyla LaForge.
The mention of my child’s name
May bring tears to my eyes,
But it never fails to bring
Music to my ears.
If you are really my friend,
Let me hear the beautiful music of her name.
It soothes my broken heart
