Obituary
Sophia Denise Old Bull, 59, Sophia Denise Old Bull, 59, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 23, 2021 surrounded by her family. Her Crow name is Biá itcheé (Beautiful Woman) given to her by her maternal grandmother, Frances Gardner. She is a member of the Ties the Bundle Clan and a Child of the Piegan Clan. She was born on April 9, 1962 in Crow Agency, Montana to Lawrence “Sonny” Sr. and Bertha Gardner Old Bull. She was raised in Lodge Grass where she currently resided. Sophia graduated from Intermountain Indian High School in Brigham City, Utah in 1981. Among the 800 students, she graduated at the top of her class as a Valedictorian, making her parents very proud. She attended Eastern Montana College and later received her Associates of Arts in Data Systems from Little Big Horn College in 1992. Sophia began her career as a book-keeper at Lodge Grass Schools in 1992, retiring early due to her health. She was a dedicated worker, always putting her job first to provide for her family. She remained a home-maker caring for her family, especially taking care of her father until he gained his wings in 2015. She also took care of her baby brother “Baby Lawrence” until he gained his wings in 2017. Sophia was a loving compassionate mother, wife and grandmother. She loved her family and always offered a lending hand. Sophia, as she was affectionately known, gave her life to Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior and has been a prayer warrior, always praying for her family, children, grandchildren, siblings and their families. Sophie was a woman of faith, who showed all those who crossed her path the Love of Jesus Christ. She always read her Bible and studied the word of God. She was so proud of her son Arrow who gave his life to the Lord. What made her especially proud was when Arrow began working for the Lord. She was overjoyed when Arrow and his wife, Rheannon, helped host a series of revivals throughout the reservation with her sister Valerie over the summer. She enjoyed traveling for the Lord and being in the House of God. Sophia enjoyed watching her son Seth play football for Lodge Grass Indians and was very proud of him when he graduated high school. It made her so delighted that her mother was able to attend his graduation ceremony.
