Services Friday Jan. 7 at 10:00AM at the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Lame Deer Cemetery. A rosary will be recited on Thursday at 3:30PM at the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Thurs 10-3:30.
Obituary
Tanita Faye Killsnight, 42, of Lame Deer was taken from us in the early morning hours of January 3, 2022 from a stab wound. She was born on May 7, 1979 in Billings, Montana to the late James Killsnight, Jr. and Gail Frazier White Hip. Tanita was the smallest one of 6 kids at 3 Lbs. When they all grew up Tanita was the tallest of all of her brothers and sisters. Her Cheyenne Name Hoo’óhata’e (Corn Woman). She was known as Bear by all her brothers and sisters Dylan, Francis, Christopher, Deserae, Cassie,Tersen, Alysha. She went to school in Lame Deer. Tanita met the love of her life, Sonny William Kellum, and from this union they had two beautiful children, Willie J and Tesla. Tanita ran the Chicken Coop for eleven years and also worked at the Lame Deer IGA.
She is preceded in death by her dad, James Killsnight, Jr, ; brothers Vincent and Willis Killsnight, Royce Red Star, Jordan “Wolfy” Real Bird, Woody and Lyndon White, Rocko Broken Rope and Frank Nomee; sisters Tony Grace Fisher, Susie White Hip, Jaclyn Big Day, Tonya Killsnight; grandparents James Killsnight, Sr., Regina Long Roach, Harriet Don’t Mix, Joe Rock Above, Gilbert Scott, Elizabeth White, Ivan Sr., Emma, Rita, Arelia Don’t Mix, William Gros Ventre, Andrew and Inez Birdinground, Sheila Wallace, Lewis Rides Horse, Harold and Marina Stone; great grandmothers Melvina Jefferson and Julia Rock Above.
