Tiffany Nomee-Dabney Obituary

On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, Tiffany Michelle Nomee-Dabney was escorted home by a host of Angels while surrounded by her family.  She was born on November 3, 1982, in Fort Yates, North Dakota, and spent her entire beautiful life in Lodge Grass, Montana. Her Indian Name, Aakkaa Hiish, (Makes It To The Other Side) was given to her by her late grandmother, Gretchen Bull Weasel Nomee. She was a member of the Greasy Mouth and child of the Ties the Bundle.

She was immensely proud to have attended Lodge Grass Schools from Head Start through her senior year, proudly earning her diploma in May of 2001.

Her greatest joy in life was her children and the love of her life, her husband, Quincy Dabney. She married her high school sweetheart on June 19, 2001 in Hardin, Montana.

She was well known for her sweet and welcoming personality. She was ahead of her time, with a keen sense of fashion, music, and a taste in books and movies that often became popular long after she discovered them.

She loved belting out Selena and Mariah Carey songs at the top of her lungs, filling the room with energy and joy. Her aunties often said she was the best dancer in the family, with an unmatched sense of rhythm.

She adored her hometown of Lodge Grass and sparkled as the Town’s First Lady. A devoted “LG Baby Fan,” she also took great joy in watching her nieces and nephews compete in sports.  She cherished every moment spent with her family. A creative visionary, she had a remarkable talent for transforming spaces with her unique and original centerpieces. Her keen eye for interior decorating made every room feel special, and she often served as her sisters’ personal stylist. She loved planning family parties, bringing everyone together with her thoughtful touches, and she especially enjoyed talking makeup with her nieces. She grew up watching her late father, Lewellyn, train horses and later watched her husband jockey some of the fastest horses around. Spending time at the barns in Crow Agency, Montana, nurtured her love for horse racing. She looked forward to attending the annual Indian Relay Championships in Casper, Wyoming.

She was the epitome of a woman of faith, especially in the face of adversity. Her unwavering belief in God was an inspiration to all who had the blessing of knowing her beautiful soul. She never failed to wear a warm smile, and in a world that can often feel chaotic and unkind, she was a radiant light—a beacon of God’s love shining brightly through all she did.

She attended Faith Chapel for many years under the pastorship of Nate Poetzl.

Her love was fierce and immeasurable, expressed in her favorite saying “I love you like a million andromeda’s”(andrama-dus)
