Verlene Ruby (Schmidt) Feller

Verlene Ruby Feller (1940 – 2025) passed peacefully at Big Horn Hospital with family by her side on April 22nd, 2025 at the age of 84. Verlene Ruby Feller was born on July 23rd, 1940, to Edward and Naomi Schmidt. She was the seventh child out of her ten siblings.  Verlene made friends with everyone she met, whether it be out getting groceries or out doing one of her favorite things, putting a $5 in the machines. She worked at Bud’s Freezer, Lucky Lils and Lucky Star. She loved all her jobs, but most of all she loved being an attendant at the casinos the most.  She enjoyed visiting with all her clientele while she was working. Verlene loved Elvis and owls (so many knick knacks!).

She was a devoted wife to Joseph Anton Feller.  Joseph Anton Feller and Verlene Ruby Schmidt got married August 31st, 1957 at the Methodist Church in Hardin, MT.  They were married for 45 years before Joe passed in 2002.  After they got married, they had 4 beautiful kids who she cherished.  Verlene was the rock of the family. Her most favorite thing was having family gatherings. Having everyone together, eating delicious food (she loved to cook), laughing and telling stories filled her heart.  

We want to thank all the nurses and doctors at Big Horn Hospital.  And a big thank you to Belinda Bellmore for all you have done for Verlene.

She was survived by her son Rick Feller (Kathy), Debbie Hartung (Scott), Roxane Renova (George), her grandchildren Ashlie, Jennaca (Josh), Austin (Jenna), Jose (Bailey), Chandale (Rhett), Marissa and Miguel. Her Great grandchildren, Sofie, Ridge, Ty, Jackson, Beck and Jace. Her sister Delphine and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents (Edward and Naomi Schmidt), her husband (Joseph Feller), her son (Curtis Feller), her granddaughter (Amanda Hartung), her brothers (Morris, Roy, Jimmy, Al, Virgil, and Neil.) Her sisters (Myrtle and Marvel).
