Vincent White Hip Obituary
Vincent “Catfish” White Hip, 83, went home to be with the Lord on September 10, 2025. Vincent was born to Susie White Hip and Henry PrettyOnTop, Sr. on March 4, 1942 in Crow Agency. His Indian name is Chiitdeeitcheech meaning “Good Scout.” He was a member of the Big Lodge clan and a child of the Big Lodge.
Catfish graduated from Lodge Grass High School, where he played football and basketball. In his younger years he loved to ride bulls and go hunting with his big brother Everette Whiteman in the Big Horns. He was also known for making old-time saddles. He was also a #1 fan for the “Indians”, especially of his great grandson Keenan Flying and loved to brag about his height.
Vincent is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Rapheal, Hartford and Steve White Hip, Sr.; sisters, Ada Rides Horse, Clara and Bernadine Nomee, Henrietta Pretty On Top, daughters Tracy and Mary Agnes White Hip, granddaughter Suzie White Hip and nephews, Al and Ryder White Hip.
Survivors include his son, Frazier (Gail) White Hip; daughters, Polly (Ellisworth) DeCrane and Delvenia Covers Up-Teeth; grandsons, Quindell, Thomas Bull Tail, Dylan Francis, and Chris Killsnight; great grandson, Wally Night Walker; brothers, Jerome White Hip, Henry (Anda) Pretty On Top, and Robert Howe; sister, Vickie Howe; nephews, Steven White Hip, and Woodrow “Shorty” Plainfeather; nieces, Carmen LaForge and Maria (Preston) Onion.
We give special thanks to the Sits In The Middle nursing home staff. His extended family include the White Hip, Pretty On Top, Horn, White Clay, Blaine, Don’t Mix, and Cummins families.
