Wade William Miller passed away December 6, 2024 in the Wolf Mountains doing what he loved, chasing cattle. Wade was born November 25, 1951 at the Hardin Hospital to Walter William (Junior) Miller and Margaret Wiggins Miller. He attended Lodge Grass Grade and High School until graduating in 1970. He then attended college at MSU in Bozeman, MT majoring in Animal Science. While there, he joined the Flying Bobcats and received his pilot’s license. On April 5, 1973 his father was killed in an automobile accident in Billings, MT. Wade returned home from college to help at the family ranch on Little Owl Creek, Lodge Grass, MT. On February 18, 1977 he married Joan Marie Wallace in Red Lodge, MT. Wade was a benefactor of the NRA and a collector of firearms. He also was an accomplished banjo player. One of his favorite things was riding his Harley to the Sturgis Rally. In addition to being a rancher, he was a wildlands firefighter with his 4000 gallon tender.
Wade is survived by his wife, Joan; his brother, Paul (Myrna) Miller of Lodge Grass, MT; cousin/brother, Tony (Bonnie) Stark of Big Horn, MT; numerous cousins; brothers-in-law, Mark (Cathy) Wallace of Dayton, WY and Alan Wallace of Dumfries, VA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A reception will follow at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds.
