Winston Ware Obituary

Winston Cue Ware, born in Billings, MT, May 15, 2023, to Tia and Melvin, passed away in the arms of his mother October 8, 2023 at the Children’s Hospital in Denver, CO.

Winston was a fighter from the day he was born—arriving a month earlier than expected, and overcoming several obstacles in his growth.

Winston’s Indian name, Ishuua' itche “Has Good Prayer Song” was given to him by his grandfather, Leroy Cummins. Winston is a member of the Ties the Bundle clan and a child of the Bad War Deeds clan.

He enjoyed it most when his mom cradled him and patted his back. He also enjoyed having tummy time on his dad’s chest.  One of his favorite things to do was when his mom would carry him in the morning to help wake up the kids, Russell and Lauren, for school. From the day he was born, he was center of their world and loved the attention his big siblings would give him and they enjoyed carrying him and giving him kisses. Lauren was very protective and loving to her baby brother. Russell was sure to always check on him and couldn’t wait to get him to laugh by his tickles.

He was loved by all who met him. He began to coo and babble, found his hands, would scoot when having tummy time and enjoyed his baths and moving his legs in the water. His favorite stuffed animal was Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. He recently started to laugh and smiled often. He will be loved and missed every day.

Winston is survived and loved by his parents Tia and Melvin; brother, Russell; sister, Lauren; many cousins; grandfathers, Leroy (Patleen) Cummins, Cody Ware, Barney Cummins, George (Julie) Cummins, Theodore Ware, Michael R. Ware, Glenn Ware; great-grandfather, Lloyd Pickett, Gale Three Irons, Clarence (Joslyn) Three Irons; grandmothers, Amy Hanson, Carlotta Ware, Lora (Rocky) Pickett, Leatrice  Pickett, Alda Good Luck, Polly (Manuel) Chase, Merry (Pepe) Cardenas, Tiffany (Conrad) Costa, Jessie Glenn, Trina (Kevin) Sanford; great-grandmothers, Elvenia Pickett, Peggy (Jim) Glenn and Laura Real Bird; aunts Dustie (Josh), Velma (Coty), Hannah (Colten), Darralyn (Jacie), and Trinity; uncles, Jason (Velvett) and Clement (Amber) Cummins, Darnell, Famous and DJ Lefthand.
