In Loving Memory Benedict John Blain Bulltail

Benedict John Blaine Bulltail, Jr. 51 of No Water District passed away July 25, 2017. He was a
member of the Big Lodge Clan and was a child of the Greasy Mouth. His Indian name
Iitchiaxuushe (Owns Fast Horse) was given to him by the late Warren Joe Blaine. He was born
August 3, 1965, in Crow Agency to Benedict and Linda Blaine, Sr. and was adopted by Ronnie
Bulltail. Benedict received his early education at Wyola Elementary School and later attended
Lodge Grass High School. While in high school, he participated in cross county, track and field
and received many awards. JR was an avid horseman and one of the highlights of his life was
being a jockey for area horse races. He was only 12 years old when he won the Crow Bred.
Growing up JR helped his father at the family ranch in Binnette (No Water) and he also owned
cattle and horses of his own. JR was employed by the Crow Tribe for several years and later
worked for the Lodge Grass High School where he was a loyal employee for 14 years. He
married Anita Stewart and later divorced. JR’s favorite things were playing bingo and
handgames. He was a member of the championship No Water District Team as the Best
Medicine Man. JR was a very compassionate man and loved his nieces and nephews as his
own. His riding partner was always Kolbyn Crazy Mule. JR loved his children dearly and always
attended Benicia and Ronee’s activities.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Warren Joe and Myrtle Blaine, John
Bull Tail and Rena Rosebud Birdinground, Starr Weed, Sr., Leo and Edna Good Luck; his uncles
Charles Blaine, Arnold ͞Lucky͟ Coyote Runs; his aunts Mary Blaine, Rowena Gets Down, Georgie
Bear Cloud; his sister Little Rena Frank.
He is survived by his children: daughters, Benicia Bulltail, Ashley Plenty Hawk, Elisha (Jacob)
Morning, Krysta Plenty Hawk; his sons Ronee Bulltail, Benedict Blaine III, and Lawrence
(Marmie) Plenty Hawk III; his grandchildren Ariel, Emelio, Kyreanna and Xavier, Jordan, Praise
Morning, Haven Plenty Hawk, Breanna, Kylee, Lillianna Old Elk ; his brothers James Blaine,
Rhylan Sioux, Ted (Kera), Chesarek, Tyler (Chrissy) Chesarek, Phillip Frank, Felix (Haley) Blaine,
Joey (Jerlyn) Pretty On Top and Joseph (Tillie) Bear Cloud Jr.; adopted brothers Brian Pretty
Eagle and Allison (Vandy) Boyer; sisters Theresa (Charlie) Stops, Erica Frank, Bekki (Albert) Gros

Janis Gets Down and Martha Blaine; and all his nieces and nephews; his extended family
include Birdinground, Bulltail, Blaine, Walks, Left Hand, Big Hail, Fitzpatrick, Bear Cloud, Costa,
Bull Horse, Packs the Hat, Goes Ahead, Hugs, Iron, Morrison, Humphrey, Plenty Hawk,
Whitehip, Weed family from Fort Washakie, Wyoming, Horn families from North Dakota and
Idaho, and Pretty Eagle descendants. Our family is large and if we have missed you, please
accept our apology.
Rosary will be recited 4:00 pm Friday in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass will be
celebrated 10:00 am Saturday in the Lodge Grass Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in the Lodge Grass Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with
the arrangements.
