Stacy “King” Rose Walks, 40, of Crow Agency, Montana passed away May 5, 2023 at the IHS hospital. Ishtaleaxchiabia, “Squirrel Woman” is the Indian name given to her by her late grandmother, Philemon Five Crooked Arm. She was born to Cathy Walks and Thomas Chief Child, and was later adopted by her grandparents, Vincent and Mary Crooked Arm.
Stacy grew up in Crow Agency and received her education at Montana Youth Challenge in Dillon, graduating from there with the second class the first year. She was a member of the Catholic Church, the Greasy Mouth clan and a child of the Greasy Mouth, and a member of the Native American Church.
Stacy was a homemaker who loved to cook for her family and try out different recipes when baking cakes. She also helped her sisters and brothers by babysitting. She loved all her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews. She also loved to playing Sudoku, drawing, coloring, beadwork, and writing.
Stacy is preceded in death by her mother, grandparents, brother Varian Brien Crooked Arm, sisters, Stella Walks, Feshia Crooked Arm, Coretta Fighter, Danny Rose Half, nieces, Mary Deggef Walks and Faith Deputee, nephew Lyric Pretty Paint, uncles, Crawford Reed, Gary Boyer, John Fighter, auntie, Laura Jean He Does It, grandmothers, Genevieve Knows the Ground, Catherine LaForge, Adelia Walks, grandfathers, Benito, Charles Martin and Floyd Walks, great-grandmothers, Annie Walks and Philemon Five Crooked Arm.
