Rozella Frances Leider, 58 of Crow Agency passed away on Friday August 20, 2021. She was born to Ettinge and Harriet (Leider) Little Owl, Jr. on October 16,1962, in Crow Agency, Montana. Her Indian Name Baap`aam Biakalishte (Young Peyote Woman) given to her by Nora Big Hair. She was a member of Ties-the-Bundle clan and a Ties-the-Bundle child. She was a member of the Catholic Church and the Native American Church.
Rozella was raised in the Crow Agency area and attended Pretty Eagle Catholic School 1st through 8th grade and graduated from St. Labre High School in 1981. While in high school, she excelled in Cross Country. Rozella worked at Yellowstone National Park and then attended Montana State University Bozeman. She also worked at the Crow Mercantile and GEO’s in Crow Agency. Her true career path was as an educator. She was a home school paraprofessional with the Great Falls Public School, a paraprofessional at the Crow Agency Elementary School and earned her Early Childhood Development Certificate while working at the Crow Tribal Head Start Program. She worked with the Headstart Program for 10 years.
Rozella was a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan, always defending her team against her grandson, Tyrin, who is a Seahawks fan. She was a big fan of AC/DC and Michael Jackson, loved listening and dancing to their music.
The pride of her life were her grandkids Tyrin, Tylee, Tatum, Jordan Jr, Maddison, Skylar Bleu, Hoshke, Bailey, Laila and Lizzy. Rozella loved attending her grandkids sporting events and was a lifelong St. Labre and Hardin Bulldog fan.
Rozella is preceded in death by her father, Ettinge Little Owl Jr.; her sisters, Virgileen, Virginette, Virginia Williamson and Jane Fairbanks; her brother Brandon Little Owl Sr. and her nephews; Michael Jr. (Mikey) and Clinton Jacob (CJ) Stops.
Survivors include her mother Harriet Little Owl, her children Crystal (Jordan) Real Bird-Whiteman, Cotton (Shyla) Real Bird and Virginia LaForge; her brothers and sisters Virjama (Ronnie) Flatmouth, Diane Leider (Ken Real Bird), Carla (Gary Jo) Real Bird, Agnes (Mark) Nomee Sr, Suzette Spang, Mary Louise LaForge and Janice Good Luck. Dominic (Nevesa) Little Owl, Phil (Arlinda) Segay, Florian “Slats” Fairbanks, Stephen (Aggie) Jewett, Calvin, Cyrus(Annie), Aaron (Devona) and Clay Spotted; her uncle Tommy (Linda) Little Owl, Buster Leider and Kenneth Spotted; her aunt Nora(Dennis) Big Hair and Linda Door; her nieces: Annie, Martha, Summer, Catherine, Corrina, Stephanie, Kera, Star, Nicole, Bella and Audrey; her nephews Isaac, Johnny, Daniel, Jerry Jr, Jude, Julian, Evan, Josh, Brandon Jr. and Ike. Her extended families include the Leider, Spotted, Iron, Little Owl, Bear Cloud and Horse.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday August 25, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Bullis Funeral Chapel and Rosary will be recited on Tuesday August 24, 2021, at 3:00 pm. The burial will be in the Crow Agency Cemetery.
